The Houses That Made Me

Closing Day. This one was different.

I have owned this property for nearly 25 years.

We brought our youngest baby Bella home from the hospital here, I was standing on this 3 season porch on 9/11 watching the world explode.

I started my career in the breezeway (make shift office) while the girls were sleeping upstairs,.  Over the years we tried to sell it twice when Bella was so sick and we couldn’t keep up with the payments but it never sold and by miracles alone we were able to get it back on track and move forward.

In 2007 we moved around the corner and rented this property. Met some fabulous people along the way who called it home, including my sister living there and most recently my daughter and her Dad sharing the space to grow forward. It has been a house of healing and love.

I will miss the walls but carry with me the laughter, memories and thousands of “Mom watch this!” voices in my head forever.  Now it sits empty ready for a new beginning.

It’s time for a new chapter and less responsibly.

I hope the new family loves this house as much as we have. It’s been a boulder of our family’s foundation.

Photo of Allie, Duane, me and Tori was after two days of packing and cleaning it out, Bella lucked out lugging stuff while she is at college!

👋🏼 Bye house and thank you for the years of shelter!
